Divers deployed to search for student James Gracey in waters near Barcelona club where he vanished

Investigators searching for missing University of Alabama student James Gracey broadened their probe Thursday – deploying divers to the waters steps from the Barcelona nightclub where he was last seen.
An area of the Somorrostro beach – just yards from the Shoko nightclub – was cordoned off, La VanGuardia reported, as the search for the 20-year-old intensified.
Gracey, 20, was last seen outside the venue, voted the world’s 7th best nightclub last year, around 3 a.m. Tuesday morning and headed toward the beach, according to the outlet.
Police said they found his wallet floating in the sea near Somorrostro, but Allison Gracey, the family’s spokesperson, said she couldn’t confirm reports of the find, AL.com reported.
Cops are probing foul play as the junior student left the club with another person.
The student’s fraternity pals have said they are “scared” for his well-being.
Gracey, from West Elmhurst, Il, failed to return to the Airbnb he was renting less than 2 miles from the club.
“We’re doing everything we can to keep our heads up and remain hopeful that we find him safe, but it’s a tough time. And, you know, we’re scared,” Gracey’s Theta Chi fraternity brother Cavin McLay told WBMA.
