Power outages reported across Connecticut as severe storms hit parts of the state

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Thousands of power outages were reported across Connecticut on Saturday as severe storms moved across the state.

Eversource reported more than 5,800 outages at one point, with the majority in Meriden, Stonington, North Canaan, Plainville and Salisbury. View Eversource’s outage map here.

Do not go near downed power lines, poles or damaged electrical equipment. Call 911 in an emergency.

  • Don’t use cruise control

  • Pack an emergency kit with essentials like blankets, water, snacks, a flashlight and a first-aid kit
