Mamdani looks to put more children in danger at ACS as lefties want to abolish much-needed agency

If Mayor Zohran Mamdani taps an “abolitionist” to run the Administration for Children’s Services, he’s courting a higher death toll than the 19 lost amid his heartless frozen-homeless policy.

The departure of (terrible) ACS chief Jess Dannhauser opens the way for Mamdani to please the far left by hiring someone even worse: a chief who wants to effectively abolish the agency, warns Naomi Schaefer Riley in The Post.

Dannhauser’s “leadership” saw multiple children die of abuse; most recently, including Maliek Williams, 2, brutally beaten to death by his father, Davon Morrison, while living in a city shelter, as well as the twin boys, 14, one with autism, imprisoned and starved by a deranged mother who wanted them to stay babies forever.

Behind such tragedies is the left’s push for less monitoring of and intervention with troubled families because “it’s racist”; claptrap that Gov. Kathy Hochul nonetheless fed by signing a new law that bans child-welfare investigations on the basis of anonymous tips.

Mamdani co-sponsored that legislation, so he seems primed to appease the lefties who want to abolish ACS as a matter of “equity” — child safety be damned — because they claim ACS investigations “overpolice” black and Hispanic New Yorkers.

In fact, that enforcement is about protecting helpless black and Hispanic children.

The mayor has plenty of cred with the left; if he has any conscience, he’ll use some of it to shut down the ACS-abolition lunatics.
