Trump blasts Democrats who refused to stand for protecting Americans over ‘illegal aliens’ at State of the Union: ‘You should be ashamed’

President Trump blasted Democratic politicians who refused to endorse his State of the Union message that the first duty of the US government is to protect American citizens over illegal migrants.
The commander-in-chief slammed Democrats who remained firmly seated and said they should be “ashamed” of themselves.
“Tonight I’m inviting every legislator to join with my administration in reaffirming a fundamental principle. If you agree with this statement, then stand up and show your support: the first duty of the American government is to protect American citizens, not illegal aliens,” Trump said, sparking raptures in the House Chamber Tuesday night.
Vice President JD Vance and House Speaker Mike Johnson rose to their feet, as did Republicans in the chamber, but scores of Democrats didn’t take Trump’s hint as they remained firmly fixed to their seats.
Arizona Senator Mark Kelly was one of the prominent Democrats who was stony-faced before left-wing Minnesota firebrand Ilhan Omar heckled Trump.
Omar was heard calling Trump a “murderer” as her verbal attack was drowned out by scores of cheering Republicans.
“You have killed Americans,” Omar shouted at Trump.
“You should be ashamed of yourself not standing up,” Trump snapped as he lashed out at the Democrats.
“You should be ashamed of yourself. That is why I’m also asking you to end deadly sanctuary cities that protect the criminals and enact serious penalties for public officials who blocked the removal of criminal aliens.
“In many cases, drug lords, murderers all over our country; they’re blocking the removal of these people out of our country. And you should be ashamed of yourself.”
