Blake Corum revealed on Thursday his wife, Makiah, gave birth to their first child over the weekend.
In a sweet Instagram post, the Rams running back shared little Zara Corum entered the world on Saturday at 19 inches and just over six pounds.
“To my sweet baby girl,” Blake wrote on a carousel of pictures that included snaps of the newborn, “Daddy loves you more than words could ever explain. I promise to protect you, guide you, and give you my very best every single day. I will always be there for you and remind you how much I love you on a daily basis.”
Blake and Makiah’s announcement earned well wishes from plenty of sports figures, including Derek Jeter, who dropped a congratulations message in the comment section of the former Michigan star’s IG post.
Some of Corum’s LA teammates, including Kyren Williams and Ronnie Rivers, also penned nice notes.
Corum shouted out Makiah in the post, too, saying he was “incredibly proud” of how she handled the pregnancy.
“The courage, strength, and perseverance you’ve shown over these last ten months have been nothing short of inspiring,” he said. “You handled every moment with faith, trust and resilience, and just when I thought I couldn’t love you anymore the love has grown.
“God is good🙌🏽”
Blake, 25, has been with the Rams since 2024 when they took him in the third round of the NFL draft. He’s rushed for 953 yards and six touchdowns in 34 total games.
