
A suspect is in custody after opening fire inside a Target in Austin, killing two people and injuring two others, the Austin Police Department confirmed Monday afternoon.
The department said on X that just before 3 p.m., officers responded to the shooting call at the Target located at 8601 Research Boulevard.
According to police, the suspect, described as a white man wearing khakis and a Hawaiian shirt, remained at large until being captured a short time later.
Road closures are in place as the investigation continues.
