Mayor Mamdani’s newest tax idea (enlarging the estate tax) is no surprise coming from the man who stood by Cea Weaver after she said she wants to impoverish the middle class (“Just Cut Spending, Zoh,” Editorial, March 13).
This comes right after suggesting he might take away free parking, which will hurt everyone but the rich.
Karl Marx had contempt for the middle class and so does our new mayor. He’s just starting — what else does he have in store for us?
In a city where Nicolás Maduro sits in a prison cell, our mayor wants to impose the same ideas that turned Venezuela into a hellhole.

The Post’s analysis of Mamdani’s tax hikes leaves out one key point, which even though not contained explicitly in his plan, is obvious: Even if Mamdani is able to raise billions in extra taxes, it will not close any budget gaps: The money will be promptly deposited into the abyss of spending programs and fraud.
So the city’s finances will remain in a poor state, but with more entitlement spending — making the situation worse.
I’m sure the vast majority of NYC voters will support it, because as usual, someone else’s money will pay for their benefits.

Gov. Hochul gave Mamdani billions of state tax dollars, yet he is not done soaking the public. He wants to reduce estate-tax exemptions, increase taxes on capital gains, increase income taxes and expand the a real-estate-transfer tax. It’s time for residents across New York state to demand their representatives oppose these taxes.

There are many middle-class people in NYC who are just making ends meet. They don’t need more taxes.
This is a perfect example of being “out of touch.” During his campaign, he never once explained how he would fund all the “free” programs. He got the people on his side with his big smile, and now he’s screwing those who voted for him.

The Issue: Jimmy Kimmel and other late-night comics’ US-targeted Operation Epic Fury jokes.
The late-night hosts have no ability to recognize that the country they are mocking in “most of their jokes” allows them to do just that — make fun of the country they live in (“Late night’s ‘anti-American’ yukkers,” March 15).
Can someone arrange an “Epic Fury vacay transport” for them to Iran so they can experience the glorious life they seem to think exists in that part of the world?

If these so-called funny men want to ridicule our country, then they should leave. They aren’t being forced to stay.
Countless servicemen died for our freedom, yet these men make jokes. And CBS wonders why it trails in last place as a network.

The networks should be ashamed of themselves for allowing unpatriotic fools on late night TV to pander their not-so-funny jokes.
