PARMA, Ohio (WJW) – The City of Parma Police Department laid to rest K-9 Officer Max during a ceremony on Saturday.
According to a post on the Parma Police Department Facebook page, K-9 Max had a large tumor in his chest cavity, which caused additional medical and mobility complications for him.

Max served the Parman community from August 26, 2016, through May 5, 2025, alongside his handler, Officer J. Campana.
According to Parma police, Max stated with the Campana family when he retired, “where his loyalty, devotion and love continued,” police said.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the Campana family as they navigate the loss of a beloved family member,” the post said. “We honor our K9 hero who served with dedication and courage. Rest peacefully now. Your legacy and bravery will forever be in our hearts.”

K-9 Officer Max was taken in a procession to Ripepi & Sons Funeral Home in Middleburg Heights at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
