Travelers flying out of Georgia this year may want to take a closer look at their airport options, especially if they’re hoping to avoid flight disruptions.
A new report from InsureMyTrip, based on U.S. Department of Transportation data, reveals that Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (SAV) ranks as the third-worst airport in the U.S. for flight cancellations in 2025.
According to the study, 2.72% of all flights out of SAV were canceled in the first half of the year, putting it just behind Washington D.C.’s Reagan National and Dallas/Fort Worth International.
Here’s more about what we know.
Where does Atlanta airport rank?
ATLANTA, GEORGIA – JUNE 28: Travelers wait in a security checkpoint line at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on June 28, 2024 in Atlanta, Georgia.
Meanwhile, Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International (ATL), one of the world’s busiest airports, fared much better, coming in at No. 23 for cancellations, with a relatively low cancellation rate of 1.78%.
While ATL does make the top 25 for cancellations, it performs far better than Savannah and many other East Coast airports, several of which dominated the worst-performing list.
