Police say just after 11 p.m. that Saturday, they responded to Homeboy, a bar at 2708 N. Mesa, to a report of an assault in progress.

The investigation revealed that a security guard was trying to escort a person out of the bar that Saturday because the person was vomiting inside the establishment.

Nima Dhendup, 25, then struck the security guard, and other people who were with Dhendup also began hitting the security guard, police said.

Once officers arrived, they saw around 30 to 40 people yelling near the establishment and the security guard trying to detain Dhendup.

While officers were assisting the security guard, Menda Wangchuk Dorgi, 25, continued to intervene and ignore officers’ commands, police said.
