Driver in custody after striking pedestrians in France, interior minister says

LONDON — A driver was taken into custody after allegedly striking pedestrians, injuring several, in southwestern France, the interior minister said.

“An investigation has been opened,” Laurent Nunez, the minister, said on social media.

The strikes were in Saint Pierre d´Oléron and Dolus d’Oléron, he said.
