Trail Blazers coach Chauncey Billups arrested during sports betting probe: Sources

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Portland Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups was reportedly arrested by the FBI as part of a sports betting probe.

According to Associated Press sources, Billups was arrested along with the Miami Heat’s Terry Rozier in relation to the betting.

Sources with the New York City Police Department told CBS that the arrests are related to two federal cases.

One case involves sports betting involving NBA players, both current and former, and the other involves an illegal high-stakes poker game with NBA coaches “operated by organized crime figures.

The NYPD sources said that 31 people are being charged in the second case.

Information about the arrests is limited, but according to FBI Director Kash Patel, more information will be provided at a news conference on Thursday morning.
